This young epileptic man fell into a full tonic-clonic seizure. It ended after about 45 seconds. For a worried mother, this was probably an eternity. I’m assuming that it was during this short time that we got the call to respond. Someone had informed this mother that what you do next is stick an object like a pen or… her finger… in the patient’s mouth to take control of his tongue. Well… unfortunately, he went into a second seizure and promptly bit his mother’s finger off, unwillingly of course. I will miss the feeling of movement of my baby in my body. I will miss the baby stage. I will miss the hazy newborn days. I’ll miss the true discovery of the world through my kid’s eyes. Invite the chosen man to her bedroom after the other select few in this pub had gone home. A different one most nights or so was said. There was a 3rd party there, probably a sister of the patient who had smartly called 911 when she recognized that “aura” type stare on the patient’s face when he went silent mid-sentence. This young epileptic man fell into a full tonic-clonic seizure. It ended after about 45 seconds. For a worried mother, this was probably an eternity. I’m assuming that it was during this short time that we got the call to respond. Someone had informed this mother that what you do next is stick an object like a pen or… her finger… in the patient’s mouth to take control of his tongue. Well… unfortunately, he went into a second seizure and promptly bit his mother’s finger off, unwillingly of course. Long story short, both parties get appropriately treated and safely transported to the hospital with the finger on ice. Tongs were used to fish the finger out of the patient’s mouth. I bought a rather large and heavy 22″ statue of Buddha in a little antique shop in the Upper East Side of Manhattan many many years ago. She really had no business commenting at all. On the day this was to be implemented, I was on my way out of the cage on some errand or other when my Supervisor, Big Andy, called me over. Tom finishes his beer, gets down, does 50 push-ups with his right arm, flips over, and does 50 push-ups with his left arm…without even breaking a sweat. Finally, my friend says: “Hey buddy, why don’t you leave the lady alone?”. I’d have dreams where I was older and had kids. They would be blurry when I saw them in my dreams. I never called them by names, I never said he/she or him/her. Nothing that identified them beyond that they were mine and there were 3. My self-confidence and self-image were destroyed, of course. Invite the chosen man to her bedroom after the other select few in this pub had gone home. A different one most nights or so was said. There was a 3rd party there, probably a sister of the patient who had smartly called 911 when she recognized that “aura” type stare on the patient’s face when he went silent mid-sentence. This young epileptic man fell into a full tonic-clonic seizure. It ended after about 45 seconds. For a worried mother, this was probably an eternity. I’m assuming that it was during this short time that we got the call to respond. Someone had informed this mother that what you do next is stick an object like a pen or… her finger… in the patient’s mouth to take control of his tongue. Well… unfortunately, he went into a second seizure and promptly bit his mother’s finger off, unwillingly of course. Long story short, both parties get appropriately treated and safely transported to the hospital with the finger on ice. Tongs were used to fish the finger out of the patient’s mouth. So there we were an old hand and a newbie, playing against two young bucks. I played defense because the games lasted longer that way. My strategy was to block everything and just keep feeding passes up to my partner. We lost every game – we could not score. I bought a rather large and heavy 22″ statue of Buddha in a little antique shop in the Upper East Side of Manhattan many many years ago. She really had no business commenting at all. On the day this was to be implemented, I was on my way out of the cage on some errand or other when my Supervisor, Big Andy, called me over. That has taken time to heal. I like myself now, but honestly, I need to remain out of contact with my ex and not see him because just seeing him makes me feel worthless again. Invite the chosen man to her bedroom after the other select few in this pub had gone home. A different one most nights or so was said. There was a 3rd party there, probably a sister of the patient who had smartly called 911 when she recognized that “aura” type stare on the patient’s face when he went silent mid-sentence. This young epileptic man fell into a full tonic-clonic seizure. It ended after about 45 seconds. For a worried mother, this was probably an eternity. I’m assuming that it was during this short time that we got the call to respond. Someone had informed this mother that what you do next is stick an object like a pen or… her finger… in the patient’s mouth to take control of his tongue. Well… unfortunately, he went into a second seizure and promptly bit his mother’s finger off, unwillingly of course. Long story short, both parties get appropriately treated and safely transported to the hospital with the finger on ice. Tongs were used to fish the finger out of the patient’s mouth. They’d jumped into Business class but refused to pay for the upgrade. They seemed to be under the impression that yelling and arguing would get them what they wanted or even explaining that they were old and that the seats were more comfortable here. So there we were an old hand and a newbie, playing against two young bucks. I played defense because the games lasted longer that way. My strategy was to block everything and just keep feeding passes up to my partner. We lost every game – we could not score. I bought a rather large and heavy 22″ statue of Buddha in a little antique shop in the Upper East Side of Manhattan many many years ago. When I took it home I was trying to clean it up and noticed the bottom had a stopper, like a large screw of some kind. I shook the object and something sounded loose inside it. She really had no business commenting at all. On the day this was to be implemented, I was on my way out of the cage on some errand or other when my Supervisor, Big Andy, called me over. He was speaking to the head guard about the new “shoes off” policy and wanted my input. Voices got raised and bad reviews were threatened but the train dude was adamant. Finally, Tom sighs and says: “OK, how’s this going to work?” The guys say we’ll keep doing 50 push-ups until one of us quits. “OK”, says Tom, “you first.” So the guy gets down and knocks out 50 push-ups. Tom finishes his beer, gets down, does 50 push-ups with his right arm, flips over, and does 50 push-ups with his left arm…without even breaking a sweat. There was a bar in the center area and we were enjoying a beverage at the bar. Some guy was being a real jerk to some woman (not me) and she clearly wasn’t appreciating his attention. Finally, my friend says: “Hey buddy, why don’t you leave the lady alone?”. I’d have dreams where I was older and had kids. They would be blurry when I saw them in my dreams. I never called them by names, I never said he/she or him/her. Nothing that identified them beyond that they were mine and there were 3. My self-confidence and self-image were destroyed, of course. That has taken time to heal. I like myself now, but honestly, I need to remain out of contact with my ex and not see him because just seeing him makes me feel worthless again. So the question was “Who last opened the front door that would have made that mistake?” There was no satisfactory answer. Michael (I knew from a common friend), lived and worked over 40 miles away, and was engaged to be married. Michael, who hadn’t taken it well when the relationship was broken off, five years later had driven 80 miles round trip to enter my house when he thought no one was likely to be home, to leave a photo taken at his wedding … Being best friends with my ex-boyfriend. There has been definite ups and downs in the relationship, and many confusing moments, but I think over time we both came to the conclusion that even if being together wasn’t going to work out, we realized not having each other in our lives was just too painful and we meant too much to one another. She was there for two weeks. She had taken so much Tylenol that by the time she woke up it was already trying to destroy her liver. She had taken so much that they didn’t know what to do for her so the hospital had to call poison control and they told them what to do. The longer the meds didn’t work the worse her liver got. It took four days to get enough meds in her to begin to reverse the effects. They weren’t sure if she would have life long-liver problems due to the damage. Luckily she did not. Sometimes it felt like I had lost my mind. I didn’t know what was true or false about reality. My marriage and relationship had been an illusion, and the things he’d done continued to leak out slowly over the next year. Each time he claimed he had revealed it all, only to find out a few weeks later, he had been lying again, because it was even worse than I thought. Every time I started to feel like I had a grip on reality, another secret would come out and knock me down again. A day or two later, I was vacuuming, and in the front hallway, just inside that same front door, was a small gold decorative pin sort of thing. When asked, no one claimed any prior knowledge of having seen this item. Again odd, but I did share the home with two teenagers, and you get used to odd. He had t o complete rehab and restitution to avoid jail and keep the charge off his record. He had to pay for my broken window! The ambulance met us halfway. When I got to the hospital she was already there and they wouldn’t let me back. Not to soon after I had a cow and insisted I see my daughter. I go back and she is in a coma. so still so quiet so white. No one told me anything. After complaining about over 45min because I hadn’t seen the doctor yet a nurse said the doctor came earlier.
